Did your property taxes go up again this year?

Are you wondering why your property taxes continue to go up, while at the same time, your state is projecting record budget surpluses?

Chances are, your property’s value has increased. That’s good, because it means your net worth has increased. But it DOESN’T mean you have to be taxed more. All local elected officials have to do is reduce the mill levy enough to generate the same revenue as the previous year.

Unfortunately, they are taking the increase in valuations to raise your taxes and GROW government.

Property tax is a LOCAL tax. Your local elected officials set the amount of the tax. And property taxes have been increasing well over the rate of inflation and the Consumer Price Index. Where should it end?

North Dakota Farm Bureau believes North Dakota citizens need and deserve REAL property tax relief.
